Sub-camp Alpha-2 (A2)

Photo of our main road entrance into Sub camp Alpha 2. This is our home with 47 other troops of 40. Lots of people.

While us Houstonians say we can handle the heat, humidity and sun - all three sap you pretty quickly.

They have a color code system to alert scouts of conditions. As I type this we are in a Red alert - second highest. That means scouts should be drinking one nalgene of water every hour.

They have "shade tents" so people can get out of the direct sun and catch a little break.

Last night was comfortable sleeping. I did eventually crawl into my sleeping bag due to a chill about 3 am. That did not last log though - it got up to 80 pretty quickly  right now it is about 86.

I have to get going to settle some paperwork for the scouts. I will blog later.

Scoutmaster Jon.
