We went to the National Cathedral this morning.
We were informed it is actually only nicknamed this because the United States does not have a national religion.
The proper name is The Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in the City and Diocese of Washington. It is an Episcopal church.
It is undergoing repairs due to the earthquake a few years back - I think one of two major places (other being the Washington Monument)
